Thomas Svensson Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Hello! I have a question about fov in the calculator. When i convert from overwatch to another game and the fov differs, should i correct the fov in the new game to match actual HFOV like in the example below? Thank you for the great job on this site! Overwatch Config FOV: Field of View 103 Actual VFOV: 70.53 degrees Actual HFOV: 103 degrees Battlefield 1 Config FOV: GstRender.FieldOfViewVertical 103 Actual VFOV: 103 degrees Actual HFOV: 131.79 degrees Or Battlefield 1 Config FOV: GstRender.FieldOfViewVertical 70 Actual VFOV: 70 degrees Actual HFOV: 102.45 degrees
Wizard DPI Wizard Posted September 28, 2017 Wizard Posted September 28, 2017 As long as the game supports it, you should make the Actual HFOV identical. So for BF 1 that means setting the FOV to 70.53.
Dookie Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 I read about Overwatch's FOV being diagonal, not horizonal. So vertical FOV 70.53 would be wrong. dFOV 103 should be hFOV 95.23 and vFOV 63.295 on resolution 1920*1080 (and 27 inch monitor) if I calculated correctly. Can anyone confirm that?

Hipfire FOV is horizontal for AR over 16:9. For AR below 16:9 it scales to the configured FOV locked to 16:9. Scope and aim FOV is vertical, but it is locked to a set FOV regardless of configured FOV. The calculator accounts for all this
