Yet another monitor distance formula variant
makojunki replied to TheNoobPolice's topic in Technical Discussion
so kinda like this ^ -
Adjust Linux-Mouse-Speed to Windows-Mouse-Speed
makojunki replied to Rhino Cracker's topic in Technical Discussion
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Mouse_acceleration this is what i use for disabling mouse accel in Manjaro. should be same 'idea' in other distros.... create and edit a file in ---> /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-mouse-acceleration.conf Necro coz i was looking for this answer too. -
Please can someone tell me the formula for this....

ah, yes. i see how it is the same as the radius now xD many thanks for the reply -
Please can someone tell me the formula for this....

Could someone tell me how, maybe a formula, I would find the distance 'Z' given a chord length 'C' and central angle. Many thanks. -
Low Zoom sens too high, High Zoom sens too low.
makojunki replied to REYOU's topic in Technical Discussion
i have the opposite issue.... low zoom feels fine, high zoom feels too fast (using 0% monitor distance). -
Mathematical alternatives to 0%/100%/133%/178% Vert/Hor
makojunki replied to makojunki's topic in Technical Discussion
I am currently using 84% in BF4, for no real reason, but it feels acceptable. Ill try 88.9% thanks for the infos. -

Mathematical alternatives to 0%/100%/133%/178% Vert/Hor
makojunki replied to makojunki's topic in Technical Discussion
So is there a mathematically viable coefficient that sits between 0% MDV and 100% MDV. The reason I ask, is because 0% MDV (although feels great when getting used to it) sometimes feels too slow, and 100% MDV sometimes feels too fast using scopes. Is there a recommended MDV between 0% and 100% that uses a known rationale? Thanks -
Hi, Is there a list of any other mathematical alternatives to Monitor Distance Coefficients of 0%, 100%, 133%, 178%? Ive seen some mentioning of 56.25%, but is that vertical or horizontal? Are there any other monitor coefficients that can be considered, while also being backed up by a mathematical rationale such as gear ratios etc.... I would be very appreciative if a list could be made with a quick explanation as to how the figure is derived. Many thanks.

in a game like CSGo go ahead, use accel. You're alwasy aiming at standard, known points of interest and angles that never change ie doors, windows, edges of walls that you play consistently time and again. Other than that, mouse accel is not something that should be promoted. I really don't think mentioning anybody gives any more justification, you're just name dropping. Regardless, I stand by what I said... accel is a niche topic and irrelevant to 99% of the playerbase.

i would advise you not to use mouse accel software tbh. u will destroy your aim. It's a niche topic and irrelevant except for a very small minority of players

The monitor distance NEVER affects hipfire. it does not affect hipfire. it only affects you when u change your FOV, when scoping, using a red dot etc. Basically anything that lowers your FOV will be affected by the coefficient. But, your hipfire will never be affected because hipfire sens is what the coefficient is based upon in the first place. Example... you could play a 30cm hipfire using 0% or 178%, but your hipfire will ALWAYS stay at 30cm. only the scoping will be affected by the 0% or 178% coefficient

Why does CSGO feel faster than BF4 (hipfire)
makojunki replied to makojunki's topic in Technical Discussion
I use 90 horizontal (4:3) 106.26 horizontal (16:9) in both games. I had a feeling it was due to the different scenery and how CSGO feels more cramped compared to BF4. Fostbite 3 is a fine engine, even compared to titles in 2021 the game still looks good, and runs well. I just meant it like, it was old. CSGO keeps getting updated compared to BF4. Still, i was just curious as to why the same distance in hipfire felt faster / more responsive in CSGO compared to BF4... and like u said, it's probs due to the maps and the scenery such as character model sizes and doors etc. -
If i match CSGO hipfire to BF4 hipfire, CSGO always 'feels' faster and BF4 always 'feels' slower. I'm using same distance across both games, and same hipfire FOV across both games. Is there a reason for this plz? Maybe because i get more FPS in csgo? maybe because the BF4 game engine is trash? IDK, was just wondering if anyone else found the same and maybe know why. Thanks

I just discovered that each particular server needs to support this functionality. So, while it is possible to set sens per scope, the server itself must also be running the mod which allows it

Could you please explain how I should use the settings options in VU and also the Mouse Sens site, to calc for 0% MDV with a Scale of 67% (basically USA on, 67% ads, from BF4) many thanks. @DPI Wizard https://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/?share=9612e61d18e85dc993e878279197ae53

bro thanks so much. it feels like my mouse grip is super consistent with hipfire and ads now, in both BF4 and CSGO when going from hipfire to scope. thank you so much, ur a legend. @DPI Wizard
-
@DPI Wizard haha, ur a fucking legend. its feels really good. using 100% Monitor now from now on. thanks a lot Sir Wizard. EDIT: Sensei Wizard xD

ok i try it. thanks

so, u think i should INCREASE the coefficent?
