Does my RIVAL310 work properly?
DPI Wizard replied to StupidRegentFur's topic in Technical Discussion
Do you mean engine as in mouse sensor? It's hard to say as it's dependent on the firmware as well as the hardware. But the PMW3366 in the Logitech G900 is the most accurate I've tested so far. However the way to get the most accurate result is to first use the DPI Analyzer, and use the DPI you get from that test in the calculator. -

It's based on a perfect representation of counts, meaning for instance a 360 distance 10 inches with 1000 dpi equals 10.000 counts. Games are analyzed using scripting which perfectly produce the desired amount of counts every time, and not done using any kind of physical movement. -

It is normal unfortunately, and same sensors might have different firmware making them behave differently. On the bright side you can use the calculator here to convert from old to new DPI and maintain the same feel -
You will get 7.33 if you convert 360 distance. Viewspeed and monitor distance is more suited for ads and scope calculations, where 360 is useless.
-
I'll check these soon!

1.333333

If you try to match 360 Distance instead of Viewspeed, you will get the exact same 360 (or 180 if you will) regardless of FOV. But this conversion is only suitable for hipfire, not for scopes.
-
FOV in 1st person and 3rd person is the same, just double checked now. The only thing that happens when you swhich is that the camera moves back and forth.
-
Let me just clarify, changing DPI will change the calculations, but the end-result should be the same. The reason you are seeing such huge discrepancy for RE7 is that it has very little fine tuning.
-
It shouldn't affect it, I need to modify the calculations a bit so screen size in pixels don't affect it unless it's from desktop.
-
It does influence ADS. Always enter your configured FOV, the calculator will either ignore or use it automatically.

Instruction to get the most accurate sens
DPI Wizard replied to TizioCaioSempronio's topic in Technical Discussion
Use your Overwatch settings as the base for all your calculations, and choose either Viewspeed or Monitor Distance. Viewpseed in its current form is about the same as 70% Monitor Distance. When it comes to what % to choose, it's really down to personal preference, but a lot of games where you can't adjust scope sensitivity do either 75% or 100% by default between hipfire and scopes. A few also do 0%. But 75% (or Viewspeed) seems like a reasonable middle ground. Some might also prefer to match hipfire with 360 distance instead of the others, so they have better muscle memory of turning 180 degrees etc. For scopes you must always do Viewspeed or Monitor Distance. -
It's disabled and not in use. "Match At" is only active if you choose Monitor Distance.

Did the game get updated?
-
Default is hipfire so you need to convert that. And your ADS selection depends on your camera settings in H1Z1.
-
Use Viewspeed.
-
Correct, but if you use Viewspeed instead of 360 distance you get 400 DPI, which is probably what you want.
-
I haven't really tested this with my machine yet, but I imagine if this were the case the mouse would feel "jerky" since it's missing reports. I'll test it sometime.
-
I was testing with the wrong weapons! Tried with handgun and shotgun, where there's barely any difference, but with an AR the difference is huge indeed! Updating now
-
Did some testing now, and while it is a few degrees difference, I'm not sure it needs updating. 3rd person FOV is very different from 1st person in that depth (or distance if you will) also matters. The calculations are all based on the 1st person FOV's, where the view (almost) doesn't pivot.

The lowest sensitivity (0) in this game is not very low compared to other games, so this will probably happen to a lot of people. The error you get means that the calculated sensitivity is below 0, and the only way to fix it is to lower your DPI. If your mouse does not support that, there's unfortunately nothing to be done other than hope someone makes a mod like BLT for Payday 2.
