I am reaching out to demand about a specific issue related to mouse sensitivity scaling in Rainbow Six Siege when using non-standard aspect ratios. After extensive testing, I noticed that my mouse sensitivity behaves inconsistently when switching between different aspect ratios, particularly when adjusting from 16:9 to 3:2, 4:3, or 5:3.
My Screen is 16:9 1920x1080p
The Core Issue:
When playing with a custom aspect ratio like 3:2 or 5:3 while using a vertical FOV of 83, the mouse sensitivity feels uneven. Despite setting the same horizontal sensitivity value (e.g., 56), the vertical sensitivity seems to be incorrectly scaled, causing different in-game rotation speeds between horizontal and vertical movements. This creates an inconsistent aiming experience, especially noticeable when switching between these aspect ratios.
Expected Behavior:
The mouse movement should maintain a 1:1 ratio regardless of the aspect ratio. This means that a specific physical mouse movement should result in the same in-game angular movement, horizontally and vertically, independent of the aspect ratio or the field of view setting.
Findings from My Tests:
In 3:2 with a FOV of 83, the correct vertical sensitivity to match a horizontal sensitivity of 56 was calculated to be approximately 71.7.
In 4:3 with the same settings, the correct vertical sensitivity was 67.08.
In 5:3, the value was 75.37.
These calculations were derived based on the horizontal FOV expansion due to aspect ratio stretching while keeping the vertical FOV constant. This suggests that the game’s sensitivity scaling might not adjust proportionally when the aspect ratio changes.
Now how do i have to Setup the Calculator if i wanna translate my aim from 16:9 90 FOV to 3:2 83 FOV. 400 DPI... ( only 1x Scope or Hipe )
