[UNSUPPORTED] The Forever Winter

soooo what I learned was that this game has pseudo tank controls... kinda making it a completely incompatable style of aiming with a mouse. You gotta make slow, quick PUSHES like the character pushes forward.

I have decided to call this "Trudge Aiming".

This game has both smoothing, negative acceleration and framerate affected sensitivity. None of the common Unreal Engine fixes currently solves the issues, so it can't be added.

We can have an approximation? I mean... something like 1 sensitivity in counter-strike 2 is "equal approx" to 2 sensitivity in forever winter.

I'm not buying this game because I don't know this. I don't want to ruin my aim for the rest of the games.

Thanks anyway.

Not possible unfortunately, there are so many random elements to the sensitivity in this game that it will be different in every scenario. Even with scripts repeating the exact same movement, the sensitivity is different every time.

the negative acceleration in the game basically wrecks the feel of the game completely for me as a rawaccel user, my curve just gets all sorts of fucked up by it. unfortunately though, as randomguy guy pointed out, i also think it's intentional. i've seen several other games employ negative accel to force the player to play slower and more tactically, usually tactical shooters. it would be nice if they gave an option to disable it, because at the level it is in this game, it basically makes the game unplayable with a mouse for me, but i understand why the option isn't there if it's an intentional design choice that they consider to be part of the games difficulty. i'd still love to see the option, but i dont think we'll get one any time soon honestly. i'd love to be proven wrong though lol.

Creating a file called "Engine.ini" inside %localappdata%\ForeverWinter\Saved\Config\Windows\
putting these commands inside and making the file read only:
[/script/engine.inputsettings]
bEnableMouseSmoothing=False ;
disables mouse smoothing
bViewAccelerationEnabled=False ;
disables mouse acceleration
bDisableMouseAcceleration=False ;
ditto

Does this work? Would a sensitivity conversion be possible? I haven't been able to even test it lately.

As mentioned in the first post, all these (and more) have been tried without any effect unfortunately.

Thanks for the answers, sorry if I was a bit insistent, I really like the game but I don't like this strange sensitivity.

It should be extremely easy for the devs to fix this, so hopefully some complaints go through.
