DaddyJuanito Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 For the past few betas in the game, I was playing around with Strinova's scoped sensitivities, and the one that this website generates are not 1:1. For instance, in Overwatch, if you set windowmakers scoped sense to 37.89, aiming down sights feels the same as hipfire. The website correctly generates this, but for some reason it does not correctly do it for Strinova. I think the issue is strinova goes from third person to first person when aiming down sites, and I can't get it to convert perfectly. Through my own testing, the following values feel the closest to 1:1 .88 for light machine gun .86 for markman rifle .82 for bolt action I made this, but I am not really satisfied with how it feels, which makes sense since the guns I am converting from do not have the same ads fov as the ones in Overwatch: Any one know of any better ways to get to the bottom of this?
Wizard Solution DPI Wizard Posted July 7, 2024 Wizard Solution Posted July 7, 2024 First of all, thanks a lot for the video, this helps immensely in understanding what the issue is! 1. Shoulder Fire: This is an ADS aim, and with the setup you have in the calculator, 360 distance is not the target for the conversion. Tracking speed is, which is the speed at which you have to move your mouse to track a moving target: If you want the same 360 distance as hipfire, you need to set the ADS conversion to 360 distance: 2. Ashe vs Marksman Rifle Again, the conversion is based on the tracking speed of your Overwatch hipfire sensitivity, so it's not expected to have the same 360 distance. Matching 360 distance between hipfire and scopes will in most cases make the scope insanely sensitive and practically impossible to aim with, if not just plain impossible to configure due to the sensitivity range in the game. Also matching 360 distance between scopes in different games makes no sense, as they in most cases will have a completely different FOV. The main goal of a scope sensitivity is to keep the aim the same, i.e. the movement to what you can see on the screen. You can turn on the advanced mode in the calculator to see the full details of the conversions, where the actual 360 distance is displayed. I don't know your exact conversion, but if it's something like this: https://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/?share=b18c43ccc759ec230f1ba67d20f8dad8 - then the expected 360 distance for Marksman Rifle in Strinova is 109.5059 cm, while Widowmaker is 125.6535 cm. Since these values are based on the goal of achieving the same tracking speed, doing 360 rotations will only make sense if you use the calculated 360 distance for each scope. DaddyJuanito 1
DaddyJuanito Posted July 7, 2024 Author Posted July 7, 2024 @DPI Wizard Ok that clears things up. Your explaination is very thorough and it makes alot of sense. I assume I should set the Scope - Monitor Distance to Vertical then do 0%? That is the setting that gives me 37.89 at least for widowmaker, while the other settings change the numbers around a tiny bit. Here are the full settings I am using, but im pretty sure your response was right on: https://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/?share=005db64a4b98cd98843397fe53199773 And I also agree that matching the scoped sense between games doesnt make much sense. It felt good in the training range, but in gameplay it all felt off. This is to be expected, as the guns in each games have very different FOVs. And yes, my goal is to keep my aim the same to what I can see on screen.
