Basically what the title says, how do adjust my settings on my games to keep the same focal length? Do i change the sens or the fov? Do i just change the screen size on the calculator?

I heard that you need to upscale the send when moving to a bigger screen but according to the calculator i need to  downscale which seems weird

Don't know if it's needed but for reference these are the games I'm currently playing:

-Deep Rock Galactic

-Battlebit Remastered

And these 2 sometimes:

-GTFO

-Overwatch 2

I've kind of asked this on another topic before but that ended up turning into a discussion of Rainbow Six more than anything and I just stopped getting responses either way

But on that topic someone was talking about changing the FOV to keep the 360 but they were talking about CSGO, I wonder if it's the same for other games

You can adjust the FOV until you get the same sensitivity as you had before. This is a manual process though, there's no function in the calculator to do this automatically at the moment.

For instance if you want to match MDH 100%, do like this example and adjust the FOV for the 27" until the sensitivity is the same as before:

If you do want to change the FOV instead of the sens, you should bear in mind you are nearly always more limited by FOV options in games, especially if you like the upper end of them.

But with a calculation you can work out the new FOV needed to match focal length on the new screen size instead of changing sens...

You can do newFOV = 2 * (arctan( screenSizesRatio * tan( ( oldFOV * π / 180) / 2))) * 180 / π

so if the oldFOV was 90 degrees on the 24 inch, and the screenSizesRatio is 27/24 = 1.125.....

we then have: newFOV = 2 * (arctan( 1.125 * tan( 1.5708 / 2 ))) * 180 / π

so newFOV = 96.73 degrees on 27 inch

Ok so I'm back to update you guys on how things ended up, basically I tried changing the sens and the FOV like you guys said but it all felt really awkward so i kept the same setting and that was honestly what worked for me, I guess everyone is different when it comes to that cause people really complain about it but it felt fine for me

The first thing you said to me in that old post is actually what ended up being the best solution @TheNoobPolice which was keeping the same setting and try to adapt

Thanks everyone for your answers and your time!
