Quackerjack Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 Hi guys, So for me as clarification, monitor sizes changes the sensitivity but aspect ratio changes keep the same sensitivity. But if i get black bars with 4:3 resolution, the screen size is effectively reduced so it would be the same as change to a smaller monitor. I dont understand this, someone can help me out?

I dont understand this, someone can help me out? as far as i am aware this has to do with screen size not = monitor "realestate" if you get what i am saying so blackbars could jsut aswell render the full 16:9 pic while a change in actual screen size will change the total amount of space your fov can / will use so left you simply wont see the rerst of the "fov" while the right side willhave the "same" fov on both with more / less similar to Matching FOV by changing resolution ? : in this post https://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/forums/topic/4704-conversion-method-guide-and-other-faqs/ -- might be totally off with my undertsanding of your question or my answer, if someone else has corrections/ a better take pls @ Edited February 9, 2022 by fortunate reee Quackerjack 1

Different monitor size will match the physical monitor distance (unless you match using 360 distance), so for instance if you go from a 24" to a 27" 16:9 monitor, the sensitivity in the middle 24" of the 27" is the same as before. In other words if you overlay the 24" over the 27" the 24" movement will be the same. 4:3 Black bars would be the same as a 4:3 monitor with the same height and using MDV 0%, like in this example: https://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/?share=d180648f2b3a42f3a98feb57311af2df

So going from 19 to 24.5 for example the sensitivity in the middle (19 zoll) from your 24.5 is the same. But why we calculate it then iam lost

If you don't change sensitivity it will not be the same, you need to calculate a new sensitivity for it to be the same. Some prefer this, but most people don't use this feature actually.
