AIucardd Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 (edited) This topic title is good enough for my question. I got trouble understanding FOV part of calculator. My CS:GO sensetivity is 2.3 DPI is 400. default CS^GO FOV is 90. default sige FOV is 60. 1) (Pic 1) I changed my Sige FOV to 90 (what I use), setted my sens to 1 (lowest discrepancy) and calculated "Hipfire (Advanced)" 2) (Pic 2 I can't upload) Now I'm calculated "Iron sight (Advanced)", setted my aim sens to 51 (lowest discrepancy). FOV changed back to 60. When I was calculating hipfire, changing it to 90 made sens, because 90 here and 90 there. But Iron sight and ACOG has different FOV.... The question IS: Should I change my fov to 90 from default 60 when I calculate ADS (iron sight or ACOG) I did understood (I hope) how viewspeed differs from 360 rotation. Basicly I can use 360 to calculate hipfire speed (in games with same FOV) and use viewspeed to calculate magnifying scopes sensetivity. BUT, should I change FOV value when I calculating scopes sensetivity, or ADS sensetivity when ingame fov is changing. Is calculator setting "correct" fov by default, or should I change it to 90 (the one I use for hipfire) Edited June 13, 2017 by AIucardd

When you enter the FOV, you look at the actual fov values in the result. This tells you the actual fov, because the ingame value could be referring to the horizontal or vertical, and it could be the 4:3 value or it could be the actual value that is correct for your monitor's aspect ratio. Use the calculator to find the correct fov to use for your game, try to make the actual fov value match the input game (csgo). Make the changes in your game to verify that you can indeed set that fov, then use the calculator again to find your sensitivity, using the fov you were able to set ingame. If you change the Aim Type, or conversion method, the FOV in the calculator will usually reset back to default, make sure to enter your correct FOV value again every time (the one you have set ingame). In your case, you need to set Rainbow Six to 73.74 fov to match csgo, not 90. Convert to hipfire first, take note of your sensitivity because usually you need to put this in when calculating scopes. Then change the aim type to each scope, setting the fov back to 73.74 each time. I see... So, if I take for example CoD:IW, I have to set ingame FoV to 105 (only +-5 in game) to get min. difference in Actual VFOV and Actual HFOV? And when I change aim type it's still calculating Actual V/H Fov for ths scope type, using my selected Config FOV (for sige is 73,74), so it's actually important to always set Config FOV every time :) I always thought I have to guess in game FoV for ADS and input it in Config FOV for every scope type. AIucardd Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 (edited) 9 hours ago, Drimzi said: You can adjust FOV by 0.5 in COD IW using the ingame setting. If it is like BO3, set it to 107 for the most consistent results. COD AW and earlier use 0% monitor distance from the hipfire sensitivity/fov to the ADS sensitivity, and BO3 is equal to that at 107 FOV (except snipers, bo3 snipers seem to have a sensitivity boost), IW is probably the same (I havent played it in a while so not sure). So if you want aim sensitivity to be similar to other CODs, use 107 fov. You could also use a dpi toggle on your mouse to make ADS equal to viewspeed. DPI wizard should make the calculator remember the fov because it causes so much confusion and errors when it clears the fov box. It also resets wps back to 6 which is annoying as well and can lead to more errors. Thank you so much for your answers! Nah, I have Zowie ZA12, so DPI toggle is not an option... I just add 1 to my calculated sensetivity, so I have fast hipfire sensetivity and normal (calculated) ads sensetivity... works fine for me :-) Edited June 15, 2017 by AIucardd
