Rainbow Six Seige Sensitivity Issue

Recommended Posts

Hello All!

I'm premium and I'm new, but the calculator can't seem to help my current situation.  I believe someone in here can.

On my older, ASUS 28inch 4k 60hz monitor, I was running 1200 DPI, 37 sens, 37 sens, .02, .02, 75fov

I've since picked up an ASUS 24inch 1080p 144hz monitor.

I'm trying to translate those settings over to my new monitor so I can again enjoy rainbow six, but so far, I've spent a week of my life and gotten nowhere.

I purchased a premium pass on here last night hoping it would help me solve the issue but it doesn't allow me to translate to the same game on a different monitor size.

Can anyone in here help me figure this out? You would be my savior and me and my ranked team will be forever in debt with you.

You could keep the sensitivity exactly the same, just set WPS to 4/11 to make 2D have the same sensitivity. Alternatively, set your DPI to 600 and then your multiplier would be 0.4 instead of 0.2.

Noob Question: What is WPS? lol

Noob Question 2: Do I need to change the multiplier to .04 or will it do that automatically once i change my dpi?

Sorry for the noobiness

Resolution does not affect 3D sensitivity, so you can keep everything the same.

For 2D, you have half the pixels compared to before, so in order to make it the same, you will to need halve the DPI (misnomer for CPI, counts per inch).

WPS is Windows Pointer Speed. 6/11 is the default setting and is equal to 1.00x, every mouse count equals 1 pixel moved. At 4/11, equal to 0.50x, every other count will be ignored, effectively making 1200 DPI equal to 600. This will affect your desktop, 2D scenarios in 3D games, and 3D scenarios in 3D games of they don't have Raw Input enabled.

Ok.  So I added another DPI setting to my Corsair M65 Pro for 600.  I then changed my multiplier to .04

Is this what you mean? Or does the multiplier automatically change in the background when the dpi changes?

You have to set the game sensitivity variables yourself. I assume the multiplier is just a multiplier for your sensitivity, so you can get more fine-grained results. You would have 37*0.04=1.48 sensitivity. At 1200, you have 0.74 sensitivity.

I'd like to say i'm not confused, but I am.

With your above statement, you said my multiplier should be .04.  Did you mean I should be changing it to .04? Or the game will handle that itself?

I changed it, as I believe that's what you meant.

Awesome.  It feels stiff as I've been playing at 1200dpi 37 sens but I'm sure that's due to 2 weeks of struggling lol.  Thanks for your help. Drimzi.  You da man!

Yeah I know what you mean. Being at 600 might feel a little different but you will get use to it as long as you keep it. This is because sensors don't run at the exact value you set it to. The true DPI drifts out further as you increase the DPI.

If you ran it at 2560x1440 at all times, then yes. 1200 DPI at 1440p is faster than 1200 DPI at 2160p. The correct DPI  to use would be 900, not 600. At this DPI, you need 0.026667 multiplier.

Ok, I'll try that.  My friend told me that running at a lower resolution, I should still consider my settings to be running at 4k. I'll try these right now.

Edit:  My master resolution in Windows was 3840 x 2160.  I ran the game at 1440p.

Ok, stick with 600.

So, running at 600dpi, .0.4 multiplier, i am able to aim! it feels good. So thanks for that.

I do notice a weird jitter though. Not jitter as in i see an enemy, i flinch, and it jitters, but jitter as in I can see the mouse jumping from pixel to pixel.

Possibly caused by me now running at 144hz?

Your sensitivity is extremely high, you would benefit more from a higher DPI, rather than using a low DPI and a high game sensitivity.

The game sensitivity determines the degrees rotated for every mouse count, so ideally you want the rotation per mouse count to be as infinitely low as possible, and for there to be infinitely high mouse counts. That would result in the smoothest aim imagineable.

The sensitivity you used is equivalent to 4k DPI on the desktop. With this DPI, Rainbow Six would be 11 sensitivity, 0.020671 multiplier.

You say "With this DPI, Rainbow Six would be 11 sensitivity, 0.020671 multiplier ."

what should the DPI be, if 600 is too low?

Yea, i'm not too sure about the finer details.  I was a beast on my old monitor.  My native dpis are 2400 and 5700.

If i tried these, what would the sensitivities and multiplers be?
