Is it ok to use a DPI value other than 400, 800, 1600, 3200?

I want to change my DPI to something other than the above but I'm not sure whether it's a good idea to do so or not since everyone I know uses one of these values.

Try to don't go higher than 3200. If I remember correctly 3360 and above cencors added smoothing 3200+ DPIs

I think I read recently that depending on the 33** sensor that can be as low at 1800dpi, save the one that is in the logitech G502, that one scales better higher.

There is different information. They said smoothing starts above 2000DPI on 3360. Looks like good.
