Hohhenheim Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Hi everyone. I started playing Apex some days ago and I was trying to find my optimal settings. Normally I am comfortable with playing 34 cm/360 and I read that 800 dpi 1.5 in-game gives you that. Shroud was using 400 dpi and 3.0 in-game and he has 34 cm/360 so it was supporting the argument. The problem is, I have 750 dpi and when I calculate I had to set 1.6 in-game. So I did. But whenever I try to calculate my cm/360 it looks like 25 cm/360. I didn't understand what is wrong. I was using 6/11 in windows settings like it should be. I am using Corsair Harpoon mouse and I checked DPI on driver and it is 750 like it should be. My mousepad is steelseries QCK so it shouldn't be the problem. I am just obsessed why I am getting different results. I know I can set it to 34 cm/360 easily with lowering the sensitivity but I am curious about it. Any ideas ?
IsakS Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Don't compare your sensitivity to others, what works for Shroud might not work for you in the long run. And I also got completely lost in what you wrote, but I understood it as you wanted 34cm/360 but you got 25 instead.. try to lower your sens to see what happens. Make sure you calculated it correctly
Hohhenheim Posted March 12, 2020 Author Posted March 12, 2020 It is not just about Shroud. People are getting 34cm/360 with those settings. When I check my mouse DPI with an online DPI analyzer it shows around 1k. But on Corsair app it looks like 750.

He says he has a sensitivity that he likes, which is 34cm/360, but when he uses the calculator to get that, it turns into 25cm/360. I'm guessing that the issue is his mouse, I remember my corsair harpoon being off by a fair amount.
Hohhenheim Posted March 13, 2020 Author Posted March 13, 2020 I am really thankful Duckkeyy finally someone understood me. I checked my mouse and you were right. My mouse has an issue which I couldn't understand. 750 dpi and 1000 dpi are exactly same sensitivity. I don't know why. I checked both of them on online DPI analyzer and both of them are showing around 1100 dpi. And when I check 500 dpi, it is accurate. So I did the same calculations for 500 dpi and my problem solved. So my mouse had an issue. I don't understand how it can be accurate on 500 dpi, close enough for 1000 dpi but doesn't work on 750 dpi
