I'd be interested to compare some different mouse pads just to see if there is any difference between paper, a super cheap mouse pad and a "gaming" mouse pad in terms of performance. I'd assume most of the claims that a mousepad will make a significant difference are just marketing, but it could sort of make sense that giving the mouse a texture it can recognize easily could improve it's tracking abilities. 

 

With your setup it would also be interesting to see how different brands of mice compare in terms of DPI, is Logitech's definition of 900dpi the same as Microsoft's, for example?

Getting a gaming mousepad is important. It does affect tracking - you can't just use any old texture. But most importantly, the type of mousepad determines your grip style. If you get a cloth pad then you have a lot more control but they might cause your tracking to suffer. If you get a hard pad then you don't have as much control but you'll be better at tracking. Hard pads feel fast but are hard to use.

I've done a lot of improvements on the machine (mounted it in a cradle, made it click on command) and have tested quite a bit on the Logitech G900, Zowie and Razer Mamba 16000, but been to busy to put together something publishable yet.

Also, the Razer Mamba results had me so baffled I have spent a lot of time testing it... I think people will be very surprised!

Will get to other mice after these are tested.

I've heard some amazing things about the Logitech G403 (notG402) and the G PRO.
 I myself already am completely sold on these mouses but I think it would be worth testing these.

They use the same sensor and implementation as the G900 (3366). Already tested.

I'd love to see this on the DA-Elite.

I have EC1a, G403, G502, DA-elite and when using the DPI analyzer the 3366 from logitech seems to be 100 or at least 99% accurate on DPI.
But the EC1a and the DA-elite both give me different numbers. The DA-elite on 800dpi when doing the test lands around 840-860 so it would be great to know the exact dpi of this mouse for transferring sensitivities as well as how accurate it is.
