How to convert FOVs?

What is the most consistent/best way to convert FOVs from one game to another ? I never know when to use which FOV type within the advanced section of the calculator. I play on 1920x1080 & 16:9 aspect ratio

I always base everything from BFV as that is my main game, as far as I can tell the games will first display their default FOV & FOV Type, so i just change the FOV until the Actual VFOV & HFOV numbers match, I don't touch the FOV Type

I also make sure if im setting things like Sensitivity & FOV from ingame I change that in the location before beginning the calculation

not 100% sure if this is the correct way to do it but it seems to feel right
