Using Apex Legends as my main game to convert sensitivity

Recommended Posts

Hi, i'm a new member on this website & i'm having some difficulty understanding the proper way to convert my sensitivity. My Apex Legends sensitivity is 1.5 with 1.0(default) ads and 800 DPI. I'm using a 24 inch monitor and play Apex on 90 fov (in-game settings).

My question is: What would be the best way for me to convert my Apex legends sensitivity to other games like Overwatch, CS:GO, PUBG?

I'm not sure what conversion method would work best for me personally. This is mainly because i'm having trouble understanding how different FOV affects converting sens. I have read the FAQ and while it made the whole thing somewhat more understandable, i still don't quite get it.

I'm hoping anyone on this forum could help me understand this, and tell me what conversion method is best for me personally to transition muscle memory from Apex Legends to other games.

Friendly regards,

Stewie

The default conversion setup should work for you, the only part you might want to play around with is the Normal conversion (i.e. hipfire), as some prefer 360 distance and others MDH 0% (or another percentage in some cases).

Note that if you can match the FOV between games the conversion method doesn't matter as they will all result in the same sensitivity. And matching the FOV is always recommended whenever possible.

So for instance to convert form Apex to PUBG do like this:

Note that the FOV Type and FOV value for PUBG is changed to match that of Apex, the output will show you the correct FOV to configure in PUBG to get the same FOV as in Apex (106.26 in this case).

Thanks for the fast reply!

Would i use the same conversion method for Apex > Overwatch? As Overwatch has a fixed FOV of 103 that i can't change. How would you convert when you can't match FOVs?

For those games just do exactly the same, but use the default FOV (it will automatically be loaded when you select the game).

If hipfire feels wrong using 360 distance, try another method like MDH 0%.

is there a way to match the Apex FOV to the Overwatch one? I am doing the opposite, Overwatch is my main game that just feels so good to me at this point and switching over to Apex has been a little sloppy. I run 800dpi, 4.25 in game, 24 inch, 1080 and all that. but whenever i switch the Apex in game FOV to 103, it just changes back to 104. is there anyway to stop this or put something into a config file?

thank you.

It shouldn't do this, what exactly are doing that's causing this? Any steps I can try to replicate would be great!

The correct way of finding the FOV is to set Apex to FOV Type Hdeg Res and value 103, and see the output for the correct Config FOV.

thank you for getting back to me!

It isn't doing it on this website, I have had everything work wonderfully here. it changes from 103 to 104 inside the actual Apex Legends game. Inside Apex it wont stay at 103 as soon as i click away from the box. I do see on this site that there is a config value for the FOV being 103, i think? does this mean i can go into the config folder somehow and put this value in for an auto execute command in the Apex folder that will give me the same FOV as in Overwatch? config value i found on this site when entering all of my information on the sens area is below.

Config FOV:
cl_fovScale "1.237600"

I see now :)

The in-game FOV in Apex is very inaccurate so don't pay too much attention to it. The correct FOV is the multiplier in the file, that's what's actually applied to the game.

The FOV is in the config file %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex\profile\profile.cfg

gotcha! that makes so much sens now. thank you so much for this! I'll go dive into that file and check it out. probably put my sens in there also? make sure it is all the same. can't wait for it to feel the same. will be so nice.

The sens is in %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex\local\settings.cfg ;)
