flying_tortoise Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 (edited) Hey guys, I really love the aim training maps in csgo and have spent 140 hours in them alone. But then I watched a video saying that I wont be able to have a 1:1 transfer of my sensitivity to overwatch because of the fov differences. Which is really really disheartening for me because I want my muscle memory to be perfect. I then heard that i could change my fov in csgo with csgo debug set to 87. Basically I could really use some guidance, to what I should do to get the closest 1:1 feeling from csgo to overwatch (with overwatch being my main game) in order to develop muscle memory. I originally did this (straight csgo sens 1.07 -> to get overwatch sens ) http://imgur.com/a/fUYQS Then I heard about the fov making a non-1:1 experience so I changed csgo fov to 87 (cuz someone said 87 was correct since it changed Actual HFOV to 103.36, closer than the original 106) http://imgur.com/a/dMCcb But then I read on the forums that I should be converting to monitor distance and not 360 deg so would I do this plus the fov of 87? This part got pretty confusing for me. My monitor size is 24, but screen size is 23.6 (I get a discreptancy of 2% when i use 23.6, so Im hoping I was supposed to use 24) So this time I did monitor distance, fov csgo 87, monitor 24) http://imgur.com/a/iXgvP I dont mind changing my overwatch sens if it means getting the games 1:1. If there is anything else I could do definitely let me know Thank you guys for the time, it's super appreciated Edited October 25, 2016 by flying_tortoise
stereo3D Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 changing the csgo fov to 87 in the calculator won't change the fact that you actually played csgo with fov 90 the whole time. so simply use the default fov but choose monitor distance instead of 360 distance. overwatch sens is 3.4 with match at 50 %.

To be honest I don't mind swapping my fov to 87 if it means the experience is that much similar to overwatch. Am I correct that the fov would now basically be a fov of 103? Thank you for the info I do believe they games feel so much similar than before and the fov change makes csgo even more similar to overwatch. I really hope this isn't just in my head. As even doubling my dpi and 1/2ing my sens felt off to me, even though they are of course exactly the same soooo yah I don't really trust myself lol.
stereo3D Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 ok, if you want play csgo at overwatch fov of 103 then use this: csgo: (match at 50 %) sensitivity "1.060880" fov_cs_debug 86.63
flying_tortoise Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 OH! I didn't realize I could change it to exactly 103 with 86.63 Dude this is awesome. Thank you so much!
onscreen Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 You do realise fov_cs_debug is a sv_cheats 1 command and so will not work online.
