How can I Lower My DPI and Keep My Same Sensitivity?

im trying to lower my dpi from 3200 down to 1600, but ive gotten pretty comfortable with my current overwatch sens of 2.9. is there a way that the calculator can adjust for the dpi change?

i could just double my ow sens to compensate but im not sure if its that easy or not

Yes that is exactly how you do it, and the calculator can help if you need it (as shown below). Your effective sensitivity is a product of in-game sensitivity and DPI (as well as Windows Pointer Speed).

For OW yes, but for a lot of games NO! This only works for about half the games. For any game that has 0 as a valid sensitivity this does not work.

Using the calculator like potato shows does the trick though.

Wait, which games can you give as an example?

Ah ok I never knew that, I wonder why they are different

The mathematical reason is simple; If 0 is a valid sensitivity it obviously can't be multiplied or divided, and it's impossible to reach 0 by division or multiplication.

This is probably a better example:

Sensitivity formulas for games like this are usually much more complex than those where there is a 1:1 relation between sensitivity, DPI and distance.
