Planetside 2

You should always enter the config FOV, but let me double check the PS2 calculations as I haven't played it in a while.

Was the calculator fixed for PS2?

Is there like a minimum sensitivity for the vehicle?

I'm getting the error:

Too low sensitivity or too high new DPI
Recommended new max DPI: 750 DPI

Here are my settings...

Converting From: Windows / Desktop

  • Resolution - 1680 x 1050
  • DPI - 2100
  • WPS - 3/11

Converting To: Planetside 2 (Vehicle)

  • Resolution - 1680 x 1050
  • DPI - 700
  • FOV - 65

Would it be possible to add the missing weapon magnifications (2x, 3.4x, 4x etc) to the aiming calculation. The stated magnifications in game don't actually match the FOV you might expect when I calculate them by hand.

Is there something i'm doing wrong here? The ADSMouseSensitivity doesn't seem to be calculating correctly, from another site it should be 0.152948?

Does this have something to do with the move to directx11?

This is correct according to the default setup of the calculator which will match tracking speed between the aims. 0.152948 would match the same 360 distance, which is not ideal for aiming.

Interesting, thanks for the response. What is the reasoning behind the ADS sensitivity being affected by vertical FOV also?

Mainly that the conversion between different aspect ratios keeps the aim consistent. Let's say you convert from 16:9 to 21:9. The vertical FOV (usually) stays the same, so by using this FOV for the calculation the sensitivity in the 16:9 portion of the 21:9 monitor stays the same as before, with the extra width just added on. As long as you don't change aspect ratio it doesn't make any difference though. 0% is the same, and other percentages are directly related. Like MDH 100% = MDV 177.7778% on 16:9.

Alright, thanks for already answering my queries and the answers have led me to research on the sensitivity conversion methods since then, I have now come up with these input parameters, can anyone see anything wrong with this logic? 360° distance is now the same for hipfire and ADS.

What about other scopes?

You need to configure the calculator to match your current settings, so it depends.

Use the "All" aim and change the FOV, DPI, resolution and sensitivity 1 according to your settings. The adjust the ADS and Scope setup so it matches your ADS and scope sensitivity.

sorry to necro an ancient post but does the calculator account for the different zoom levels for each scope such as 1x 2x 3.5x etc...?

I've added all scopes now I think, let me know if I missed any :)
