Before I go premium I need some help here...

OK I've gone Premium, can you please confirm if I'm doing this right then? In this example I'm trying to 75% distance match PUBG Hipfire (which I guess translates to "General" in game?) to ADS:

I've taken my base sensitivity value from my "General" in game sensitivity slider which is currently set at 29 (which gives me roughly a 360cm distance of 30cm with my current DPI setting of 1800)

I've taken the "Sensitivity 1" value from my PUBG GameUserSettings file here "(MouseSensitiveName="Normal",MouseSensitivity=27.000002,LastConvertedMouseSensitivity=0.006920)"

Is there no way I can work off of the values in the in game sliders? My "General" in game slider is set to 27 but I'm unable to put that value in the calculator. Reason I ask because someone told me they were banned from PUBG for editing mouse sensitivity values in the GameUserSettings file! So to be on the safe side I'd rather round up the figures and use the in game sliders if possible? / /EDIT - Nevermind, I found the "in game" option!

So, am I doing this right? In this case both sensitivity values are the same as I guess the calculator has rounded them up/down and the Hipfire and ADS in PUBG are VERY similar anyway, but other than that have I set my values correctly into the calc?

This is the results, do they look about right as they all look pretty similar:

HIPFIRE (TPP) (GENERAL) =    29
VEHICLE =                                   29
ADS =                                           29
TARGETTING (TPP) =               29
2x SCOPE =                                28
4x SCOPE =                                28
8x SCOPE =                                28
15x SCOPE =                              27

This is done correctly. The PUBG scope sensitivities are using Monitor Distance 100% by default, that's why you get such little variation with 75%. Setting the sensitivity in the config file is more accurate, but there's been an update recently I need to check regarding this.

Great thanks, I'll roll with this for now then and see how I get on. FYI the person who told me they got perma banned said it happened in January 2018, they said they weren't given a reason but all they had done was modify sens values in GameUserSettings file.

I see a lot of posts regarding this, it's amazing that they see this as a bannable offence when the in-game settings provide such poor granularity.

So yeah don't modify the files. I'll maybe remove the calculations actually so people don't do it by without knowing the possible repercussions.

There is no way they are banning people for editing that file. That would be absurd. The person was most likely cheating as they all say they got banned for no reason.

It does sound weird. I know people have been using keybinds making impossible jump-crouch moves etc earlier, but I think they removed this possibility from the files. Modifying sensitivity should obviously be permitted...

The game wouldn't even be able to detect any modification to the sensitivity. Users will likely get flagged for cheating when the game has had its graphical parameters set to out of bound values in order to remove foliage, post processing, etc, or by making the textures transparent.

Yeah it doesn't sound right to me either but for now I'll play it safe and just use the menu sliders. It would be a shame to remove the more accurate calculations from the calculator until you can be absolutely sure it's a bannable offence.

Just to add, if I have got the gist of this then should I actually be using my 21:9 monitors 800mm distance to make these calculations or should I be drawing a theoretical 4:3 window in the middle of my monitor and using that instead? Reason I ask is that I read a lot about it being better to just use a 4:3 ratio rather than my actual 21:9 ratio. My initial first thought is that ideally I'd match to my 21:9 monitor...

I wouldn't recommend using 75% or 100% of a 21:9 monitor. You mentioned that you used a 1.33 coefficient in Battlefield. That is 75% for 16:9, but for 21:9 that is 56.25% (1080/2560 * 4/3). 56.25% will keep it consistent with your Battlefield scaling and existing muscle memory, as well as match CSGO.

Most games are starting to use Horizontal FOV (which I think is a really bad idea), which results in 100% monitor match (also a bad idea for wider aspect ratios), and it will be better to stick with a constant coefficient, like the 1.33 in Battlefield.

In the future when monitors start becoming incredibly wide, all these horizontal fov games are going to look like this :(

Instead of this

lol thanks, I'll give 56.25% a go then and see how it feels :-)

To match at 56.25% do I need to change anything else in the input fields other than change 75% to 56.25%? Can I leave the resolution and monitor size at 3440x1440 34"?

This. I'm fairly certain the banning for manually changing the .ini is because of changing/abusing something to gain an unfair advantage like when you could remove the grass with some line, and not simply for the fact that you've edited the file, if that makes sense.

I mean if they really didn't want you to change the config they would just lock it or at least lock the options they don't want you to adjust, just like they did with the foliage thing or the fov changing in the early days.

Correct, just change 75% to 56.25%. It will be matched to 1.33 coefficient (battlefield) and 4:3 fov monitor match (csgo).

I've never played CSGO so that means nothing to me lol

So at 56.25% on my 21:9 monitor I'm matching to a theoretical Battlefiled 4 on a 16:9 monitor with UsA on with a 133% Coefficient?

133% coefficient will be the same thing regardless of what the monitor resolution is. It is 133% of a square, the 1:1 aspect ratio.

Gotcha, thanks.
