camjac251 Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 I've wanted to convert 400 dpi to fit the same speed after a resolution and screen size change. Is it possible to convert 400 dpi from 1080p 24 inch to 1440p 27 inch? Thank you
Wizard DPI Wizard Posted November 26, 2017 Wizard Posted November 26, 2017 For desktop or a game? For games resolution does not matter as long as the aspect ratio is the same.
camjac251 Posted November 26, 2017 Author Posted November 26, 2017 (edited) It's for PUBG/Desktop. 400 dpi on 1440p seems really low for dragging inventory when the mouse cursor shows up. Edited November 26, 2017 by camjac251
Wizard DPI Wizard Posted November 26, 2017 Wizard Posted November 26, 2017 Ok, the DPI for the cursor is simple math, i.e. 1440/1080*400, so 550 would be the closest if your mouse supports it. For the game sensitivity going from 400 to 550 you have to use the calculator for the exact numbers as it's a bit more complicated.
camjac251 Posted November 26, 2017 Author Posted November 26, 2017 Would the dpi also account the 24 to 27 inch difference? 1.125 would be 27/24, and it ends up being 600 dpi if I multiply 550 by it.
Wizard DPI Wizard Posted November 26, 2017 Wizard Posted November 26, 2017 No, 550 was not taking into account the monitor size. Compensating for monitor size is usually not recommended, but that's a personal preference.
camjac251 Posted November 26, 2017 Author Posted November 26, 2017 Thank you for your help. I've switched it to 600 dpi to try out.
camjac251 Posted November 30, 2017 Author Posted November 30, 2017 Would 600 dpi be correct in the conversion?
