Erick Avila Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 It's been almost a week that when I try to use the caculator I keep getting these page errors out of nowhere constantly.http://i.gyazo.com/5b1c2abdc2c978c1f6512160eeca4c19.pnghttp://i.gyazo.com/bf2c8e2661ed93d14273224ebf52b470.pngWhile changing settings in the caculator it out of nowhere stops refreshing the values and freezes and if I try to reload the page I get those "No Data Received" errors. I reload several times and still get that.I have to wait a couple of minutes for the website to work again. But the same happens if I use the caculator again, after some seconds of using it it freezes and same thing. At first it wasn't a big deal, but seems like it won't fix itself anytime soon.
Wizard DPI Wizard Posted February 3, 2015 Wizard Posted February 3, 2015 I noticed this myself recently, I think I know what's causing it. Will look into solving it quickly! Erick Avila 1
Wizard DPI Wizard Posted February 4, 2015 Wizard Posted February 4, 2015 OK, so I have identified the problem. Every time you change something in the calculator, there is a script running updating all the calculations. So when you click the resolution field and enter "1920" that's six requests alone, one when you click the field, four when entering the digits, and one when clicking out of the field. I made the calculator this way to feel "alive". The problem is that when this happens too often (30-50 times within a minute), the server returns an error code instead of the calculations. This is a protection on the hosting environment I can not do anything with unfortunately. So I think the solution will be to make a "Calculate" button instead of everything being calculated all the time. Erick Avila 1
Wizard DPI Wizard Posted February 4, 2015 Wizard Posted February 4, 2015 I found a clever workaround, see if it works like intended for you now Erick Avila 1
Erick Avila Posted February 5, 2015 Author Posted February 5, 2015 Good explanation, when it happens I'm pretty much changing long sens digits very fast.Or should I say happened* Problem gone... thanks for the fix
