Wizard DPI Wizard Posted June 24, 2014 Wizard Posted June 24, 2014 Advanced Mode gives you the option to enter FOV in six different ways: Horizontal Degrees with 4:3 base - This is used in games that seemingly change the FOV when you change aspect ratio (A/R). They use a constant FOV based on 4:3 A/R, and simply add on the needed fields for the increased A/R. Horizontal Degrees with resolution base - This is for games that keep the configured FOV regardless of A/R. Vertical Degrees - Have the same effect as horizontal degrees with 4:3 base in that it adds on the needed fields when changing A/R. Radians for all the above - Same as with degrees, but some games use radians instead. And this can be a real pain to calculate... Until now You will also need to enter the correct resolution, your current resolution is automatically filled in if using Windows or Mac. Note that the normal enabled mode only displays relevant information for games that have been updated recently. Games not updated will display debug output even in normal mode. The normal mode will output the configuration value, actual horizontal FOV (based on resolution) and vertical FOV. You can change the FOV type and enter the desired value, and the calculator will tell you what you need to set in the configuration file. Lastly the debug mode will output all six values in addition to the Horizontal FOV ratio used in some games (like DayZ), but note that some of these values may be irrelevant depending on the game. More info later! Latent 1
Jaffycake Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 (edited) I'm trying to change my CS:GO mouse sensitivity to match my windows desktop mouse sensitivity. I use a widescreen monitor, so i changed the fov base in your tool to "resolution", but what im finding now is that the tool changed the fov to something different than 90. so i dont think im understanding what im doing properly. I want to make a swipe of my desktop in windows as close to possible as a swipe of the screen in cs:go. My monitor iss widescreen1920x1080 and i use 350 dpi, windows 6/11 sensitivity Edited July 6, 2014 by Matthew Hoey

My monitor iss widescreen1920x1080 and i use 350 dpi, windows 6/11 sensitivity For CS:GO just leave the default value at 90, this is the correct value to use regardless of resolution. You see with advanced mode on that the actual FOV is 106.26, but the config FOV is still 90
COMECOCO Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 (edited) hello, i want to match my desktop mouse sensitivity to Battlefield 3 but i dont fully understand some things: My desktop settings are: 900 DPI, 6 WPS, 2560 x 1080 resolution. With that being said i start the Desktop mode process: With advance mode DISABLED, i enter my desktop settings (resolution is auto set it) and choose Battlefield 3 from the dropdown list. Set the fov to 90 and the calculator give me a 0.084879. Thats all i have to do to play with the same sensitivity in my game? The calculator is assuming that i play at the same resolution of my desktop? I play bf3 with 1366 x 768 resolution and 90 vertical fov. That resolution is 16:9 and the advanced FOV options are only two 4:3 base and resolution base.... i dont get that.. which one i have to use? Another thing is, how i will know what kind of FOV a game is using? How i will know i have to use 4:3 based or resolution based? I really need a good step by step guide to set my sensitivity... please guys im not sure what im doing Edited March 20, 2015 by COMECOCO
